What personal details AeroSync keeps, why, where, for how long, and what you can ask of us.

This notice is a draft, being checked by our lawyer. Until then, write to info@aerosync.co.in with any question about your details.

Who we are

AeroSync, of Cherukuri Nest, Plot No. 8/1, First Street, Royal Enclave, Senneerkuppam, Poonamallee, Chennai 600056, India, runs the AeroSync application and this website. For the personal details a production puts into AeroSync, we act on that production's behalf; for the details of the people who sign in, we decide how they are used, as set out here.

What we keep

  • Your account. Your name, email address and phone number, and your password, kept only as a one-way scramble we cannot read back.
  • Your company. The production house's name, address and GSTIN, for invoices.
  • The people on a film. Each person's name, email, phone and role; for an actor, the dates they have given and the days they are away; for a crew member, what they are paid, seen only by those whose role holds the budget.
  • What you upload. Scripts, footage, pictures and other files, and the notes and comments left on them.
  • The film's record. Who did what on a film, and when, including who watched which daily.
  • Your devices. The devices you are signed in on, so you can see and end each one.

This website itself keeps nothing about you: it sets no cookies and has no tracking.

Why we keep it

  • To run the films you make on AeroSync, and to let the people on them do their work.
  • To keep a production's footage and records safe, and to show who did what with them.
  • To send you what a film sends: invitations, call sheets, mentions, and notices about a film's billing.
  • To bill the production house, and to keep the invoices the law asks us to keep.

We do not sell personal details, and we do not use them to advertise to you.

Where it is kept

In India. Every film, its footage and its records are stored in India.

Who else handles it

A few service providers run parts of AeroSync for us, each seeing only what that part needs, and none allowed to use it for anything else:

  • the provider of the computers and storage AeroSync runs on, in India, which also sends AeroSync's email and finds places on the map;
  • the provider of the encryption that protects dailies as they play;
  • the weather service, which is told only a location's position, never who asked;
  • the AI model that Munshi uses to read and answer, which receives what a question needs and does not keep it or learn from it.

We share details with a government body only when the law requires it.

How long it is kept

  • Your account, for as long as it is open.
  • A film's footage, files and record, for the life of the film: footage on AeroSync is never deleted, and a film's record cannot be changed, because a production relies on both.
  • Invoices and what they rest on, for as long as tax law requires.

Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may ask us what personal details we hold about you and how we use them, ask us to correct or complete them, ask us to erase details we no longer need to keep, withdraw consent you have given, and name someone to act for you. You can change your own name, phone, email and password yourself, on your account page.

Some details cannot be erased while a production needs them: a line on a film's record says who did something, and removing it would break the record the production relies on. We will tell you when this is so.

Children

AeroSync accounts are for adults. Where a production enters a child's details, such as a child actor's dates, the production is responsible for having a parent's or guardian's consent.

Questions and complaints

Write to info@aerosync.co.in. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
