Your film is the negative. We keep it that way.

What AeroSync does to keep a film whole and in the right hands, in plain words. Each of these is how the product works today.

Kept whole.

Footage, once it has arrived, stays exactly as it arrived.

  • Stored in India. Every film, its footage and its records are kept in India.
  • Each film on its own. A film is kept in its own store, apart from every other film.
  • Never deleted. The store is locked as it is made: nobody can remove footage, including AeroSync. Every version is kept.
  • Checked against the DIT's record. What arrived is matched to the checksums the DIT wrote on set; what does not match is named.

In the right hands.

Every person on a film signs in as themselves, and their role decides what they reach.

  • Roles, film by film. What each role may see and do is set feature by feature; every change is on the film's record.
  • Watched, never handed over. Dailies stream encrypted, with protection of the kind streaming services use, and the watcher's name over the picture.
  • Access that ends. When someone leaves the film, their next play is refused and their editing drive stops within two minutes.
  • No public links. A file is shared with a named person on the film, never with whoever has a link. Every view is someone's.
  • A draft carries a name. A script downloaded is marked with who took it.
  • Originals stay put. The edit works from proxies; camera originals stay in the archive.
The film's Activity: Nothing has been changed, 385 lines, each with when, who and what.

On the record.

Every action on a film is a line on its Activity, in words: who, what and when. Lines are only ever added, the record checks itself, and the producer can export it whole.

What AeroSync's own staff can see.

Nothing of your film, unless you ask.

  • No way into a production. AeroSync's staff do not see a film's footage, script or people.
  • Support, only when you switch it on. For one film, for three days, to look and not to change; and it is on the film's record.
  • Nobody browses a crew. Staff find one person only by their whole email address.
  • Munshi only proposes. He never deletes or publishes; a person applies what he suggests. A script he reads is never handed out as its file.
